Each week, we make authentic sourdough rye breads. We rotate what we make on a weekly basis. The rotations include 100% Rye (this loaf has rye flour and cracked rye), Seedy Rye (this loaf has sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and flax seeds, cracked rye and rye flour, and rye malt), Baltic Style Coriander Rye (this loaf has cracked rye, sunflower seeds, rye malt, and our own certified organic coriander seeds). The rye we use in these breads is a Swiss culinary rye from the valley of Wallis by Zermatt and is grown on our farm.
Each case of rye loaves includes 5 loaves. We make rye bread every week, starting Tuesday. All loaves are fermented over the course of several days. Loaves are baked Thursdays and Fridays. Loaves have a 1-week non-refrigerated shelf-life (in a cool and dry environment) and 1-month refrigerated shelf-life. Loaves can be frozen and/or purchased fresh or frozen with an excellent 3-6 month shelf-life if purchased frozen.
We recommend refrigeration in warm weather since these are very moist whole grain breads that build up condensation. Freezing the loaves after being out is also an option or choosing frozen loaves to sell frozen or thawed.
Suggested retail price for a 3 lb loaf is $15.
Breads are packed in compostable cellophane and are labeled with bar code and best by date.
All ingredients except for salt are certified organic.
Wholesale breads are available for purchase at 5 breads per case.
