This sourdough whole grain bread is made with our maize "only" sourdough starter, organic white and blue corn flour, cracked white corn, cooked millet, wild oregano flowers, dried mulberries, blueberries, and hazelnuts. This is our only sourdough bread that does not contain wheat or rye. While we are not a gluten-free facility, this bread does not include flours containing gluten. The flavor of this bread is fruity and sour and is loved by our gluten-free customers. Sometimes there is a blue corn variation of this bread that has a pink sheen. Some color variability to be expected.
This sourdough bread weighs 2.3 lbs or a little over 1 kg (similar to the Brick) and has a 4-week shelf-life if refrigerated and a 6-9 month shelf-life in freezer.
Each loaf is packaged in compostable cellophane with label. Fresh loaves have at least a 3-day shelf-life in cool environments <68F. We recommend refrigeration in warm weather since these are very moist whole grain breads that build up condensation. Freezing the loaves after being out is also an option or choosing frozen loaves to sell frozen or thawed.
All ingredients except for salt are certified organic.
Wholesale breads are available for purchase at 5 breads per case.
